The new Young Kia is a ground-up Kia dealership in Layton, Utah, built by PJF Corp for Young Automotive Group. The two-story, 38,000-square-foot facility went from start to finish in under 12 months, about six months faster than the typical 18-month schedule for a dealership of this size.
For a car dealership, every month under construction is a month without sales or service revenue. By planning early, coordinating trades closely and keeping the schedule tight, PJF delivered the building roughly six months ahead of the industry norm. That head start saved Young Automotive Group significant time and money and got the store open and selling sooner.
Before any walls went up, this project required extensive preconstruction services. PJF worked with Layton City, title companies, civil engineers, land surveyors and geotechnical engineers to prepare the site. The entire subdivision had to be reworked, which meant coordinating with multiple property owners and HOA members to agree on a new layout.
With approvals in place, the team demolished old storage units and other dated buildings to clear the way for a modern dealership campus. Handling entitlements, demolition and construction under one contractor kept the project moving and the schedule on track.
The building follows Kia’s newest dealership design, with high-end finishes and extensive storefront glass wrapping a two-story showroom. Inside, a bright, open-concept sales floor lets customers move easily between vehicle displays, sales offices and finance offices, keeping the experience simple from the first visit to delivery day.
Dedicated spaces give the team room to learn new Kia models and train on products and sales, so staff can answer customer questions with confidence. A separate delivery area lets buyers take home their new vehicle in a polished, private setting.
Behind the showroom, a state-of-the-art service department includes drive-through service lanes and a full-service shop. The service drive keeps customer vehicles moving quickly from write-up to the bays, and the shop is laid out for an efficient technician workflow and steady daily traffic.
The original Kia dealership sits just a stone’s throw to the north. Young Kia is moving into the new building, and PJF is renovating the existing Kia dealership into an Audi dealership. The phased plan keeps both stores running, so Young Automotive Group never misses a beat with customers.
Young Kia is one of several dealerships PJF Corp has built for Young Automotive Group, a relationship built on repeat work. Since 1973, PJF has delivered ground-up dealerships, remodels and brand-compliant upgrades across Utah. As a construction manager and general contractor, we coordinate the city, consultants, brand requirements and every trade, so owners get one point of contact and a schedule they can count on.
